Two eights are sixteen and it’s the eight day of the eight month of the sixteenth year of the twenty first century.

And I think August is my favourite month. It is the month where you can just about feel summer starting to change into autumn – after the scorching heat of July, all the leaves are withered and fruits are starting to plump up ready for picking. The sun sets between eight and nine, which is prime time for evening walks and drinking and eating – August is the best month for BBQ’s. Plus – NO HAY FEVER!

I must add, I also like May, because everything springs into life and the green is new and fresh and the air feels full of optimism. But it’s still a bit cold and the football season is coming to an end.
