So, I bought myself a piano for my birthday a few months back. It was long overdue, as whenever I happen upon a piano I have to tinker around on it. That’s what they’re for isn’t it? I had a piano years ago that eventually got stored in the garage due to a house move and in due course became rotten and peeling and had some mice living in it. So I got a chainsaw to it and used it for firewood. I can’t lie I felt awful about it, but hey, you know it was fucked so it was the best I could make of it.
I’ve always fantasised about being able to play piano properly. I just can’t do it (at the mo’) because I can’t get my left hand to do something totally different to my right and also i’ll never be able to play Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata third movement due to lack of piano talent which bothers me greatly.
Anyway, as most people know, Prince died, and as most people that know me, know that I really admired Prince – so I decided to write a little ditty on piano (ditties are my thing on piano) in homage to one of my favourite pieces he ever created – Father’s song from Purple rain. It’s not really a song, just a bit of music that is later transformed into the album track ‘Computer Blue’. I’m sure Prince fans will know what i’m on about.
This is my nod to that – I guess it’s called ‘Prince’s Song’.
