Today I had to take down a Sycamore for a client, which was a fun and mildly dangerous job. However, when it came to taking the main trunk down, I looked up and saw a potential project. So I jokingly suggested to my client that maybe I could turn the trunk into a sculpture, to which he replied “ok, that could be fun”. Maybe it was the aroma of the kipper he was cooking for breakfast that swayed him. Who knows. But what I know is that i’m now going to make a cosmic pillar. At the moment it looks rather like a cosmic peg. But one day, with a bit of work, maybe it will be the cosmic pillar we all desire it to be.
